Why "Masker"?

In college, I was a member of a sorority that was known as Maskers. There were 11 of us girls, all juniors, and 11 seniors. I was the 1997-1998 Masker #7. It was a highlight of my college years and I have used it for computer user ids since then. In the 10 years that have followed, however, I am learning the value of taking off the fake "Mask" and being true and authentic with myself and others. THAT is the purpose of my blog.

Talk to Jesus; I You, Mommy

Every night we have a little routine: After cleaning up the dinner dishes-while Cassie and Tim have Daddy/daughter time, all three (well, 4, counting Riley) of us go upstairs to get Cass ready for bed. I didn't think it particularly mattered to Cassie, but last night she showed us that she KNOWS what comes next in our routine--right after we put her in bed she said, 'talk to Jesus?' I was estatic...that's the closest thing to a "gold star" a Mommy can get!

After we talk to Jesus about our day, we tell her good night and I say, "I love you, Cassie." Her response: "I You, Mommy."
I don't know if she is speaking in some sort of outdated type of English or if her toddler brain simply left out the verb...but those two pronouns speak volumes of meaning into my heart!
