Why "Masker"?

In college, I was a member of a sorority that was known as Maskers. There were 11 of us girls, all juniors, and 11 seniors. I was the 1997-1998 Masker #7. It was a highlight of my college years and I have used it for computer user ids since then. In the 10 years that have followed, however, I am learning the value of taking off the fake "Mask" and being true and authentic with myself and others. THAT is the purpose of my blog.

Clean House, Happy Heart!!!

My new favorite person is Nelly from Andrea's Cleaning (if you want her number, let me know!)!!!! Our neighbors recommended her so I called yesterday to get a price estimate and they said they could come the very next day! My home is so lovely and smells CLEAN now! They disinfected and wiped every surface--I haven't been able to find a spot they neglected. I'm full of gratitude...I see this as a huge gift-just what I needed to get a winter boost!

I'm not a very good stay at home Mommy, I confess. Don't get me wrong-I love Cassie and being with her all day, but I never seem to have the energy to get all the detailed housework done. I do the big stuff like laundry and clutter control but not the "hands and knees scrubbing" that I know I "should" do. Hooray for Nelly (and for my tutoring money that helped to pay for this luxury!)! I think I should include a housecleaning service on my list of essentials for maintaining a sane home (and Mommy)!

How does Nelly feel about heading south for the winter? :) Kay, you are a GREAT stay at home mom! Your job is to hang with Cassie and you are doing super duper at that!!! I too lack the ability to make our house shine like the top of the Chrysler building as the world tells me I should since I stay at home all day. Alas, I do good to keep us all alive and accounted for in a day! When I get desperate for that clean smell I will pour a little Pine Sol in the potty...sad, isn't it? :) I actually have a friend who decided to wait another year to send her kiddo to preschool so she could afford a house cleaner! :) Too funny! House cleaners are wonderful gifts!!!
