Why "Masker"?

In college, I was a member of a sorority that was known as Maskers. There were 11 of us girls, all juniors, and 11 seniors. I was the 1997-1998 Masker #7. It was a highlight of my college years and I have used it for computer user ids since then. In the 10 years that have followed, however, I am learning the value of taking off the fake "Mask" and being true and authentic with myself and others. THAT is the purpose of my blog.

Cough Cough

My counting skills have been improving...last night I laid in bed for hours listening to Cassie cough-I was counting the seconds in between every cough. Of course, my own coughs added to the night-noises but they weren't as frequent as Cassie's--the poor kid was coughing about every 15 seconds. I was on "Mommy alert" for about 2 hours, ready to run in to comfort her but she never sounded like she needed me. She finally stopped coughing around 4am so we both fell asleep. Guess that means the nursery/church are out for us this week. Uh-oh....I hear my baby waking up so I should close this. We will most likely head to the doctor tomorrow. sigh!

Ughhhh!!! The only thing worse than caring for a sick baby is caring for a sick baby while you yourself are also sick! :-\ Glad to hear that you are on a slow uphill mend!

Also: recently published study results say that a spoonful of honey can soothe a child's nighttime coughing better than cough medicine or no treatment (Read about it here: http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSWRI37851120071203). Maybe it's worth a shot! I will definitely be trying it once my daughter's over the age of 1. :)
