Why "Masker"?

- In college, I was a member of a sorority that was known as Maskers. There were 11 of us girls, all juniors, and 11 seniors. I was the 1997-1998 Masker #7. It was a highlight of my college years and I have used it for computer user ids since then. In the 10 years that have followed, however, I am learning the value of taking off the fake "Mask" and being true and authentic with myself and others. THAT is the purpose of my blog.

Who needs a flu shot!?! ME!
Lesson learned: Flu shots are not just for babies and husbands...Mommies need them too! I'm on day 7 of the most evil Flu known to man. This is the sort of flu that killed zillions during the great influenza epidemics--it nearly killed me, that's for sure! I think I have officially entered into 'recovery' but it's been a VERY long road. I'd like to write more about my many adventures but I'm just too pooped from the effort of this post already!

I made the same mistake, Kay. I figured that, since I wasn't teaching, I didn't need the flu shot. Well... the 102 fever yesterday morning was telling a different story. Lesson learned. Next October we'll have to remind each other to go take care of that shot.
